Czech Republic Schengen Visa Requirements

To apply for a Czech Republic Schengen Visa, you’ll need the following documents:

  1. Visa Application Form: Complete and sign all sections of the official Czech Republic visa application form (PDF) (opens in new tab).

  2. Photograph: A recent, passport-size photo in color with a white background. The photograph must meet the Schengen visa photo requirements (opens in new tab).

  3. Passport (Original):

  • Signed passport issued within the last 10 years, containing at least 2 blank pages, and valid for at least 90 days beyond the return date from the Schengen area.

  • Extended passports older than 10 years are not accepted; applicants in this case must apply for a new passport.

  • Photocopies of previous Schengen visas endorsed in an old passport or issued within the last 3 years, if applicable.

  1. UK Residence Permit:
  • UK immigration status is now held as a UKVI eVisa. Physical Biometric Residence Permits (BRPs) expired on 31 December 2024 and are no longer valid.   • Proof that you have at least one month of residency in the UK remaining after your planned exit from the Schengen area.


Supporting Documentation for Schengen Visa Application

  1. Proof of Current Occupation:
  • Employees: Provide a recent, original letter from your employer, including:

  • Name, date of issue, address, contact details, position, and salary of the signatory.

  • Last three months’ payslips.

  • Students: Provide a recent, original letter from your UK university, college, or school confirming enrollment.

  • Self-Employed: Recent, original letter confirming business ownership, including:

  • Last tax return with applicant’s details (name, address, Unique Taxpayer Reference, and National Insurance Number).

  • If the first tax return is pending, a letter from HMRC with the UTR and NI Number.

  • Company Director: Provide a Director’s service contract, Certificate of Incorporation, and letter from an accountant.

  • Unemployed/Retired: If receiving benefits, provide a recent letter from the Jobcentre or Pension Service. If not receiving benefits, include a cover letter explaining financial situation.

  • Housewives/Husbands (Sponsored by Spouse/Partner): Provide:

  • Marriage certificate (original and copy; if not in English or Czech, translated by a certified translator).

  • Spouse’s passport (original and copy), proof of occupation, bank statements, and a signed sponsorship letter.

  • Recent UK bank statements for the last 3 months, showing name, address, end balance dated within the last week on submission date, and at least £30 per day for the duration of the stay.

  • Confirmed return travel tickets with the applicant’s name and travel dates.

  • If Traveling by Car: Car registration, insurance, return tickets (ferry or Eurotunnel with car registration number), and driver’s license.

  • If Not the Driver: Driver’s cover letter with travel dates and joint travel confirmation.

  1. Proof of Accommodation:
  • Confirmed accommodation reservations (hotel, hostel, camping) for the full stay, mentioning the applicant’s name, travel dates, and address.

  • If Not Named on the Reservation: Provide a joint travel confirmation letter signed by the person who booked, along with their passport copy.

  • For Group Reservations: List of all group members or group names included on travel tickets.

  1. Travel Health Insurance: Must show the applicant’s name, have coverage of at least €30,000, be valid in all Schengen countries, and cover the entire period of intended stay in the Schengen area. The insurance must be obtained from a company based in the United Kingdom or a Member State.

  1. Minors Documentation:
  • Birth Certificate: Full birth certificate showing both biological parents’ names; if not in English or Czech, it should be translated by a certified translator.
