Denmark Schengen Visa Requirements
To apply for a Denmark Schengen Visa, you’ll need the following documents:
- Correctly Signed Application Form:

The signature must match the one in your passport.
Photograph: Two recent, passport-size photos in color with a white background. The photograph must meet the Schengen visa photo requirements (opens in new tab).
Passport (Original and Copy of All Pages):
A signed passport issued within the last 10 years with two blank pages and valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended stay in the Schengen area.
If available, previous passports with all previous Schengen visas and stamps must be provided.
- Proof of UK Residency:
Proof of UK Residence: Printed proof of immigration status with a share code (available from GOV.UK (opens in new tab)).
Proof that you have at least one month of residency in the UK remaining after your planned exit from the Schengen area.
Proof of UK Arrival: Document showing the date you arrived to live in the UK, such as a UK D-sticker with entry stamp.
- Evidence of Occupation:
Recent (less than one month old), signed letter on official letterhead:
Employment: Letter from employer including applicant’s position, salary, and the last 3 months’ payslips.
Self-Employed: Letter from an accountant stating annual salary drawn and including the self-assessment form issued by HM Revenue & Customs.
Student: Letter of enrolment or confirmation of student status from the educational institution.
- Proof of Sufficient Funds for the Stay:
Recent UK bank account statements showing your balance and full name, covering the last 3 calendar months.
Daily expense coverage should be approximately £40-£60 per day.
If Sponsored by Spouse: Provide marriage certificate, sponsorship letter, and spouse’s bank statements.
- Travel Plan:
An itinerary outlining your day-to-day activities in Denmark.
Proof of accommodation or sufficient funds to cover accommodation costs.
Reserved return tickets or sufficient funds to cover travel costs.

Important Application Timeline
Application Submission: The Embassy requires the visa application to be received at least 15 calendar days before the intended travel date.
Late Applications: If the application is received with less than 15 days before travel, the Embassy may deem it inadmissible. In such cases, the Embassy will not process the application and will return the passport and documents, along with a refund of the visa fee.
Additional Documents Depending on Purpose of Travel
Tourism:
Confirmed hotel booking covering the full stay in the Schengen area, or proof of sufficient means to cover accommodation during the intended stay.
Alternatively, a booking confirmation of a tour, or another suitable document, such as a list of individuals participating in the tour.
Business:
Invitation Letter from a Danish-Based Company: Signed and dated within one month of submission. The letter should be on the company’s letterhead and must include:
Purpose and exact dates of business travel to Denmark.
Indication of who will cover travel and accommodation expenses for the visa application.
Event Registration or Tickets: If attending a business event such as a conference or trade show, provide registration or entry tickets.
When to Apply for a Denmark Schengen Visa
