Lithuania Schengen Visa Requirements
To apply for a Lithuania Schengen Visa, you’ll need the following documents:
- Visa Application Form:
Complete the application form online using Latin characters.

After filling out the application form, print it and sign it in the required sections (Section 37 and the bottom part of the 4th page). For minor children, one parent must sign the application form.
- Photograph:
- One recent passport-sized photo (not older than six months) with a white or light background and a neutral facial expression. See the photograph guidelines (PDF) (opens in new tab).
- Passport (Original and Copy):
A signed passport (travel document) issued within the last 10 years.
Must be valid for at least 3 months after the visa expiry date.
Contains at least two blank visa pages.
Include photocopies of the pages with personal data in duplicate.
- Proof of UK Residence:
- It is mandatory to bring the printout of the share code from GOV.UK (opens in new tab). UK immigration status is now held as a UKVI eVisa. Physical BRPs expired on 31 December 2024 and are no longer valid. Provide a share code from the UKVI online checking service. The share code must confirm residency valid for at least 90 days beyond the return date of the trip to the Schengen Area; C type visitor visa is not acceptable.
- Proof of Employment:
General Employment: A recent (not older than one month), official and signed letter from the employer on headed paper, stating the employee’s name, position, date of issue, address, contact details, and salary, along with pay slips for the last three months.
Self-Employment: A recent official letter from an accountant, banker, or solicitor confirming self-employment or business ownership in the UK, and a letter from the tax authorities.
Students: A recent official letter from a school, college, or university stating the applicant’s name, type of studies, and attendance record.
Unemployed: A letter confirming entitlement to social benefits.
- Bank Statement:
Last 3 months of UK bank account statements (original and copy) in your name, showing balance and proving sufficient means of subsistence for the duration of the intended stay (minimum of €40 per day).
Credit card statement indicating the cardholder’s name and address, with information on the monthly limit.
- Proof of Confirmed and Fully Paid Tickets (To & Return):
- Proof of confirmed and fully paid tickets to the UK or to the country of final destination. If traveling by car, ferry tickets must be fully paid, and you must provide car registration and insurance documents.
Travel Health Insurance: Must show the applicant’s name, have coverage of at least €30,000, be valid in all Schengen countries, and cover the entire period of intended stay in the Schengen area. The insurance must be obtained from a company based in the United Kingdom or a Member State.
For Minors (Under 18 Years):
Original birth certificate and its copy.
Original passports of both parents and their copies (ID page only).
A letter of consent signed by both parents authorizing the child to travel.
If traveling alone or with someone other than parents/guardians, include notarized consent from both parents.
- Document to Prove the Purpose of Travel:
Tourism/Private Visits: Confirmed hotel booking in your name for the full stay in the Schengen area, or any other appropriate document stating the planned accommodation.
Business: A recent and signed formal invitation from a firm or authority in Lithuania, stating the kind of business, duration of the trip, and confirming who will cover the costs.
When to Apply for a Lithuania Schengen Visa
Submit your application at least 15 days before your intended travel date and no earlier than 6 months before departure. Early application helps avoid delays and ensures sufficient time for processing.
Processing Times
The minimum processing time for a visa application is 15 calendar days from the day the application reaches the Mission.
The processing time may be extended up to a maximum of 45 calendar days in individual cases if further scrutiny is needed or additional documents are required.

- Short-Stay Visa (Type C):
Suitable for tourism and business visits, this common Schengen visa allows travel to Lithuania and across all 29 Schengen countries for up to 90 days within any 180-day period from entry into the Schengen zone.
