Poland Schengen Visa Requirements
To apply for a Poland Schengen Visa, you will need the following documents:
- Completed Schengen Visa Application Form:
- You can print out the application form after registration on the e-Konsulat portal (opens in new tab).
- Photograph:
- A recent biometric photograph (3.5 x 4.5 cm) on a white background.
- Original Passport:
It should be valid for at least three months from the date of the planned departure from Poland or the Schengen area.
It should contain at least two blank pages and must have been issued within the last ten years.
- UK Residence Permit:
- Should be valid for at least three months after the expiry date of your Schengen visa. UK immigration status is now held as a UKVI eVisa. Physical BRPs expired on 31 December 2024 and are no longer valid. Provide a share code from the UKVI online checking service (opens in new tab). If your legacy residence permit is in your expired passport, please bring your old passport together with your current passport.
- Recent Letter from Your Employer or School/University:
The letter should be addressed to the Visa Section of the Polish Embassy.
Students should ensure that the letter includes information about the type of your course, school attendance, and intended period of leave/holidays taken from school for your journey.
Self-employed individuals should produce evidence of registration of their business in the UK; a letter from their solicitor, or a letter from their accountant.
Unemployed individuals should produce proof of their entitlement to social benefits.
Homemakers or dependant spouses should produce a letter from their spouse’s employer, marriage certificate, and a copy of the spouse’s passport.
- Evidence of Sufficient Financial Means:
Recent bank statements, traveler’s cheques, or prepaid travel card. Cash and/or credit card/saver account statements are not accepted as proof of your financial means.

- Proof of Return or Onward Travel:
- Confirmed reservation of return travel ticket to the UK or onward travel. For those traveling between Schengen countries, provide proof of all travel and accommodations during the stay.
- Confirmed Booking of Accommodation and Tickets:
- Covering the whole period of stay in Poland/Schengen area.
Travel Health Insurance: Must show the applicant’s name, have coverage of at least €30,000, be valid in all Schengen countries, and cover the entire period of intended stay in the Schengen area. The insurance must be obtained from a company based in the United Kingdom or a Member State.
For Business Visa Applications:
Formal Letter from Your Employer:
- Stating your position at the company, the purpose of the visit and its planned duration, and guaranteeing the coverage of your stay in Poland (including medical expenses and repatriation).
Formal Invitation Letter from Your Business Partner in Poland:
- Including information about the purpose and dates of the visit, and guarantee of covering costs of your stay in Poland (including health insurance).
When to Apply for a Poland Schengen Visa
Typically, visa applicants will receive the embassy’s decision in about 15 days. However, processing times can vary and application processing can take up to 45 days. You can submit your application up to 6 months prior to your trip.
Applicants are advised to allow sufficient time between the appointment date and travel date to ensure the Mission can process the application. No guarantees can be given on the application’s return date, as delays may occur.

Visa application processing times are generally up to 15 calendar days, but this may vary depending on your nationality and the Poland Embassy where you apply application processing can take up to 45 days. It’s advisable to apply as early as possible to avoid potential delays.

A Schengen visa to Poland comes with standard fees, as these are uniform across Schengen countries:
Consulate Fee: €90 for adults.
Children (Aged 6–11): €45.
