  • b. Student Letter (Original): A recent (less than 1 month old) signed letter from a UK university on official letterhead, addressed to the Mission, stating the name and position of the signee, and confirming the applicant’s enrollment status.

  • c. Self-Employment Letter (Original): A recent (less than 1 month old) signed, headed letter addressed to the Mission, including the name and position of the signee, and confirming the applicant’s self-employment status.

  1. Proof of Funds:
  • Latest 3 months’ UK current account bank statements showing the applicant’s name, address, and an end balance dated within the last month on the visa application submission date.

  • The balance must show a minimum amount of £50.00 per day of stay in the Schengen Area, plus any outstanding accommodation and travel fees.

  • Alternatively, online bank account printouts are also accepted.

  1. Round-Trip Ticket Booking: Reservation for airfare, train, bus, or cruise.

  2. Proof of Accommodation:

  • Confirmed reservation (hotel, hostel, camping, etc.) that includes the applicant’s name, travel dates, and accommodation address.

  • If the applicant’s name is not on the reservation, a joint travel confirmation letter signed and dated by the person whose name is on the reservation must also be provided, along with a photocopy of that person’s passport/ID card and the passport’s signature page (if the signature is not on the bio page).

  • For group reservations, a list of names of all group members is required, or alternatively, group members’ names may be included on the travel ticket.

  1. Travel Health Insurance: Must show the applicant’s name, have coverage of at least €30,000, be valid in all Schengen countries, and cover the entire period of intended stay in the Schengen area. The insurance must be obtained from a company based in the United Kingdom or a Member State.

For business trips, include:

  • Original cover letter from the inviting company/organization in Portugal, confirming the applicant’s name, purpose of visit, period of visit, and arrangements for travel and/or accommodation.

For minors (under 18 at the time of submission):

  • Child’s Unabridged/Full Birth Certificate: Must show both biological parents’ names.
