Slovakia Schengen Visa Requirements

To apply for a Slovakia Schengen Visa, you’ll need the following documents:

  1. Visa Application Form:

  1. Photograph:
  • One recent passport-sized photo (not older than six months) with a white or light background and a neutral facial expression.
  1. Passport (Original and Copy):
  • The travel document must be valid for at least 3 months longer than the expected validity of the visa requested and must have been issued within the previous 10 years. It must also contain at least two blank pages for affixing the visa sticker. Include photocopies of the pages with personal data.
  1. Proof of UK Residency:
  • Digital proof of immigration status issued by the UK Home Office (share code). UK immigration status is now held as a UKVI eVisa. Physical BRPs expired on 31 December 2024 and are no longer valid. Provide a share code from the UKVI online checking service (opens in new tab). The share code must confirm residency valid for at least three months beyond the intended departure from the territory of the Member States (or confirmed flight ticket to the country of origin).
  1. Proof of Employment/Socioeconomic Status:
  • For Employees: A recent official letter from the employer (not older than 30 days), including name, date of issue, address, contact details, position of the signatory, registration number in the UK, and salary details, along with pay slips for the last three months.

  • For Self-Employed: A recent letter from an accountant, banker, or solicitor (official headed letter) stating self-employment or business ownership in the UK, and a letter from the tax authorities.

  • For Students: A recent official letter from a UK school, college, or university stating the type of studies and attendance record.

  1. Proof of Sufficient Funds:
  • Recent (i.e., last 3 months) UK bank statement in the applicant’s name and address showing details and balance to prove sufficient means of subsistence for the duration of the intended stay (minimum of €56 per person per day).

  • Cash is not accepted as proof of sufficient means. Acceptable proof includes traveller’s cheques or bank statements.

  • If the applicant is financially supported by a spouse, provide a marriage certificate and the spouse’s bank statements.

  1. Proof of Return or Onward Travel:
  • Confirmed return ticket to the UK or to the country of final destination. When traveling by a passenger motor vehicle, submit:

  • Valid driving licence

  • Roadworthiness certificate (MOT)

  • Motor third-party liability insurance certificate (green card)

  • Certificate of car registration

  • Proof of sufficient funds for fuel and return ferry/train ticket.

  1. Proof of Accommodation:
  • Confirmed hotel booking for your full stay in the Schengen area or other appropriate document stating planned accommodation; or booking confirmation of a European tour or any other relevant document.
  1. Travel Health Insurance:
  • Must show the applicant’s name, have coverage of at least €30,000, be valid in all Schengen countries, and cover the entire period of intended stay in the Schengen area. The insurance must be obtained from a company based in the United Kingdom or a Member State.
  1. Proof of Business Invitation:
  • An invitation from a company or institution in Slovakia to attend meetings, conferences, or proof of registration for events connected with trade, industry, or work.

  • Other documents showing the existence of trade relations or relations for work purposes, entry tickets, or registration for fairs and congresses.

  • Applications will be decided within 15 calendar days of the date they are lodged.
