To apply for a Slovenia Schengen Visa, you’ll need the following documents:

  1. Completed Application Form:

  2. Original Passport / Travel Document:

  • Validity that exceeds the intended stay in the Schengen area by at least three months.

  • Issued within the last ten years and must contain at least two blank pages.

  • Photocopies of previous passports, including any Schengen visas with entry/exit stamps.

  1. UK Residence Permit:
  • Proof of immigration status with a share code (available from GOV.UK (opens in new tab)). UK immigration status is now held as a UKVI eVisa. Physical BRPs expired on 31 December 2024 and are no longer valid. Provide a share code from the UKVI online checking service.

  • Proof that you have at least one month of residency in the UK remaining after your planned exit from the Schengen area.

  1. Proof of Employment / Proof of Student Status:
  • For Employees: A recent, officially signed letter from the employer stating the applicant’s position and salary or recent pay slips for the last three months.

  • For Students: A recent, officially signed letter from a UK school, college, or university stating dates of enrollment, expected completion of studies, name of the applicant, and type of studies.

  • If Self-Employed: A recent letter from an accountant, banker, or solicitor confirming self-employment or business ownership in the UK, or a letter from the tax authorities.

  1. Proof of Sufficient Financial Means:
  • Bank account statements for the last three months; these must show the name and address of the holder(s). Electronic printouts are accepted.

  • Credit card(s) and credit card account statement indicating the cardholder’s name and address. The statement must contain information on the monthly limit or spending cap.

  1. Proof of Travel Arrangements:
  • Detailed travel itinerary from departure to return, such as flight/train/bus (roundtrip) tickets or other proof of intended transport.

  • If driving to Slovenia, provide details of the vehicle and driver(s), including rent-a-car confirmation, proof of ownership, driving license, and ferry/Euroshuttle tickets.

  1. Proof of Accommodation:
  • Confirmed hotel booking for the full stay in Slovenia or proof of sufficient means to cover accommodation costs. If applicable, this proof may be provided through a sponsorship form.
  1. Travel Health Insurance: Must show the applicant’s name, have coverage of at least €30,000, be valid in all Schengen countries, and cover the entire period of intended stay in the Schengen area. The insurance must be obtained from a company based in the United Kingdom or a Member State.

  2. Proof of Purpose of Travel - Business or Conference:

  • Letter of Guarantee from the inviting company/organization, authorized by the administration unit in Slovenia.

  • Other documents that show the existence of trade relations or work purposes.

  • Entry tickets or registration for fairs and congresses.


When to Apply for a Slovenia Schengen Visa

Submit your application at least 15 days before your intended travel date and no earlier than 6 months before departure. Early application helps avoid delays and ensures sufficient time for processing.


Processing Time

Every applicant can submit their Schengen visa application up to 6 months before the intended travel date. The minimum processing time for a visa application is 15 calendar days. Applicants are advised to allow enough time between the appointment date and travel date for the Mission to process the application.

In individual cases, the processing period may be extended up to a maximum of 45 calendar days if further scrutiny is required.


Slovenia Schengen Visa Fees

A Schengen visa to Slovenia comes with standard fees, as these are uniform across Schengen countries:

  • Consulate Fee: €90 for adults.

  • Children (Aged 6–11): €45.

  • Children Under 6: Free.

  • VFS Fee: £18.25.
