Travelling to Brazil from the UK
British passport holders can normally visit Brazil for tourism or business without a visa. That is not true of every nationality — Brazil has reinstated visa requirements for several countries in recent years — which is why the first question we ask is which passport you are travelling on rather than where you live.
Two things catch visitors out even on the visa-free route: the limit on total time spent in Brazil across a rolling year, and the health documentation that some itineraries require. Both are easier to plan for than to fix later.
Routes we support
- Short visits (tourism and business). For nationalities that need one, a visitor visa or electronic visa is arranged before travel. For visa-exempt travellers we check your dates against the yearly limit and prepare the evidence officers ask for on arrival.
- Work visas. Employment routes are sponsored by a Brazilian employer and applied for before travel.
- Student visas. Applied for once an institution has accepted you.
- Family and residence. Routes exist for spouses, partners, family members and investors, with registration completed after arrival in Brazil.
Entry rules can change, so always confirm the current position for your situation on the official GOV.UK Brazil entry requirements (opens in new tab) before you book.
What we help with
- Confirming which route suits your passport and checking current eligibility
- Checking your travel dates against the yearly limit on visitor stays
- Completing the visa application accurately and consistently
- A pre-submission review of your evidence pack for completeness
- Booking any appointment required at the Brazilian consulate
- Drafting a clear cover letter and supporting documents
What to prepare
- A passport valid well beyond your intended stay, with blank pages
- Confirmed onward or return travel
- Evidence of accommodation and sufficient funds for your trip
- A yellow fever vaccination certificate where your itinerary requires one
- For work, study or family routes: employer, institution or sponsor paperwork
Requirements differ by route and can change, so we will give you a precise list once we understand your plans. Eligibility rules and the stay granted on arrival are set by the Brazilian authorities — we make sure your application is well prepared and clearly presented.
When you are ready, contact us with your nationality, travel dates and the reason for your visit, and we will confirm the right route and start your application.
