Travelling to Egypt from the UK
Unlike many of the destinations on this site, Egypt requires a visa from most visitors — including British passport holders travelling for a holiday. The question is usually not whether you need one but which route to use, and that depends on your nationality, where you fly into and where you intend to travel once you are there.

Routes we support
- Tourist e-Visa. An electronic visa applied for online before travel, available to eligible nationalities and normally issued for a short stay. We complete the official application with you and make sure the details match your passport and bookings exactly.
- Consular visas. Where the electronic route does not apply — because of nationality, purpose or length of stay — the application is made through the Egyptian Consulate in London.
- South Sinai resort entry. Travellers flying into the Sinai resort airports and remaining in that area have historically been able to use a free short entry permit rather than a visa. It is restricted to that area, so we check it against your itinerary — including any excursions — before recommending it.
- Business and longer stays. Business visits, work and study have their own requirements and are arranged through the consulate.
