Travelling to Thailand from the UK
British passport holders can normally enter Thailand for tourism under its visa exemption. The catch is that Thailand has adjusted both the length of that exemption and its arrival formalities several times in recent years, so advice written even a season ago can be out of date — and travellers are still expected to complete an online arrival declaration before they land.
Our Thailand services cover the exemption route as well as full visa applications for UK residents who hold other nationalities, or who are travelling for work, study, family or retirement.
Routes we support
- Visa exemption and the digital arrival card. We confirm whether your passport qualifies, what the current permitted stay is, and help you complete the online arrival declaration correctly before you fly.
- Tourist visas. For nationalities outside the exemption, or for a longer holiday than it allows.
- Non-immigrant visas. Separate categories cover business and employment, study, and family or retirement, each with its own evidence requirements.
- Longer-term routes. Thailand also runs longer-stay routes aimed at remote workers and higher-income or retired residents. We check whether you qualify before recommending one.
Entry rules can change, so always confirm the current position for your situation on the official GOV.UK Thailand entry requirements (opens in new tab) before you book.
