The Hague Convention the Apostille Convention, or the Apostille Treaty, is an international treaty drafted by the Hague Conference on Private International Law.
1961 Apostille Convention abolished the requirement of traditional long and costly legalisation process for foreign public documents,with the issuance of a single Apostille certificate by a Authorised body in the country where the document issued.

Education certificates that will be submitted for legalisation must be signed, certified, and dated by a UK solicitor or notary public, or a British Council representative. If the British Council certifies it, it must be an authentic educational qualification certificate. Please check with your local British Council first, as this service is not accessible everywhere.
