Spain Schengen Visa Requirements

To apply for a Spain Schengen Visa, you’ll need:

  1. Visa Application Form: Complete and signed official form.
  2. Photograph: A recent, passport-size photo in color with a white background. The photograph must meet the Schengen visa photo requirements
  3. Passport: Valid passport with at least three months’ validity beyond your stay (original and photocopy of the biographical data page).
  4. Proof of UK Residence: Printed proof of immigration status with a share code available from GOV.UK.
  5. No-Objection Letter: Signed letter from an employer, school, or university.
  6. Financial Proof: Minimum of £96 per day per person, with at least £860 per person regardless of stay duration, shown through recent bank statements or a notarised sponsorship letter alongside the Sponsor documents
  7. Round-Trip Ticket Booking:Reservation for airfare, train, bus, or cruise.
  8. Accommodation Proof: 

   – Hotel booking, property lease, or a private invitation letter (“carta de invitación”) issued by Spanish police or signed at the Spanish Consulate. 

   – Applicant’s name and surname must be on the document to confirm the reservation or accommodation.

  1. Travel Insurance: Coverage valid in all Schengen countries with a minimum of €30,000, including repatriation.

For business trips, include:

-Letter of Invitation from the Company in Spain: This letter must state the duration and purpose of the trip and must be written in Spanish.

For minors:

Both Parents Traveling: Provide a copy of the child’s birth or adoption certificate and copies of parents’ passports and visas, if applicable.

Single Parent/Guardian Travel: Include notarized authorization from the non-traveling parent or legal documentation proving sole custody, along with Spanish translations and legalization.

When to Apply for a Spain Schengen Visa

Submit your application at least 15 days before your intended travel date and no earlier than 6 months before departure. Early application helps avoid delays and ensures sufficient time for processing.

Spain Visa Processing Time

Visa application processing times are generally up to 15 working days, but this may vary depending on the nationality and the Spanish Consulate where you apply. It’s advisable to apply as early as possible to avoid potential delays.

Types of Visas for Visiting Spain

Short-Stay Visa (Type C):
